Rockies Topple Dodgers to pull even overall
Concord – Rockies manager Paul D. had his shades dimmed low beneath a scorching hot sun last Sunday with his squad taking on the undefeated OB Dodgers. It only made sense that league MVP Paolo M. take to the bump with the task of taming the top team in senior action going into this game. Closer than the score would indicate, the Rockies dummied the hapless Dodgers in the second inning putting up an 8 run spot before the fair play rule came into play.
Action would remain close but the Dodgers were largely unable to solve Paolo who tossed 7 innings of shut down baseball. Timely hitting out of Paul G. and Jon M. factored into the 8-4 win with the team missing the two Dan’s and P. Bahous because of family engagements.
Injured in the loss was Dodger’s all-world mouthpiece and circus clown TG who took a fastball directly to the left elbow forcing him out of the game prematurely. “The only thing louder than his turbo-midget yap may have been the illustrious crack of that
ball off his elbow” commented Rockies smug catcher Capel.
